During your visit, make sure to visit the area dedicated to the Abbey's prison past, very close to the court of Écrou. In the midst of an immersive stage design, you will come to better understand the detainment conditions of the prisoners, supported by objects and documents of that time, as well as the special connection that author Jean Genet maintained with Fontevraud. Finally, you will have the chance to observe a model classified as a historical monument which offers the most detailed view possible of the Abbey during its prison period.
